Team Centre cover:
Harald and Marion, from Germany, are the OMF Team Centre Managers.
They work very hard, opening up at 6.30am, locking up at 9.30pm and are busy most of the day. It was my pleasure and privilege to cover for some of their days off, open up in the morning, chat with the Khmer staff and let them know what they had to clean or cook that day, chat with the members as they went by and meet visitors. All the easy stuff really.
How many of you are grandparents? I’ve heard that it’s good to have the grandchildren all day…..but GREAT to give them back at the end of the day. It was just like that J I’d leave a note of any difficult enquiries J
Darren meets Harald every week to pray, and I meet Marion and another friend, Lydia. I put the Cappuccino here because we, ladies, would enjoy a coffee – mostly delicious ones sent by Marion’s friends in Germany – as we chatted before we prayed J The men were more ‘efficient’ – quick pr points then prayer. Both ways are good. I can tell you that praying through different things with these great friends really got me through.
Friendship with Ryvann:
Before I went to Cambodia someone asked me to tell them one prayer request. I said that I would like a Khmer friend. This is very difficult, for many reasons including issues of dependency, patron/client, no free time, lack of language ….
During the time I was ill I was at home all day every day. I got to know Ryvann, who lives across the road, and her extended family who live with her and Rami. If I was ill just for that, it was worth it.
